What do i need?
The star of the show Crab! I like to use Chicken of the Sea tinned cooked lump crab. The lump meat is chunky and meaty just what we want for the crab cakes. You can also use good claw meat too, just don’t over mix the filling. This brand is great for crab recipes like these. In the UK you can find them in Costco – seriously sign up!
To help bind the cakes we will use Eggs and Mayonnaise.
I like to use a combination of thesefresh breadcrumbsfrom Waitrose (my go to brand) and panko breadcrumbs which provide great texture to the cakes.
For the seasoning we are going to use Old Bay seasoning a classic American blend of spices perfect for seafood and these crabs cakes! I found a giant bottle in Costco i’m super pleased with!
These Crab Cakes are the perfect side, snack, starter or party dish! Seriously try them for your next party and just wait for the compliments to roll in!
I like to serve my crab cakes with a Lemon Old Bay Mayo – it’s super easy to make and seriously good! All you need is lemon juice, old bay seasoning and mayo. Simply start with a little and adjust to your taste!
Feel like having them as a meal? Simply add some basmati rice and a butter sauce or place them over some dressed leaves for a healthier option!
