This Garlic Yogurt Sauce is creamy, fragrant and refreshing. Perfect for dunking spicy grilled or barbecued meat in. I also love it with chips and in wraps and even over salad as a dressing! It’s super yummy and really easy to make. All you need is yogurt, mayonnaise, garlic, lemon or lime juice and a few extra seasonings!
You will love this dip and use it on everything! I love making a big batch for the fridge. It keeps for up to 5 days in a cold fridge in a sealed container. Drizzle it over your wraps or dunk some Piri Piri Chicken in it! The possibilities are truly endless!
Garlic Yogurt Sauce Inspiration
I love Turkish food and a good Turkish restaurant always has a nice herby garlic yogurt sauce – perfect for drizzling over spicy barbecued meat! Anyone else getting hungry? I am just writing this! I also love ranch dressing and any garlic sauce. Pre-made dips and sauces, I try to avoid as much as possible and always try to come up with my own. You will be surprised how many of the ingredients for a sauce or dip you already have at home. It is super easy to make your own sauce and saves money. It also avoids excess sugars, salts and nasty additives that most sauces include!
What do i need?
You will need some good quality full fat plain yogurt, or you can use greek yogurt. They both provide slightly different flavours to the dip.
Good quality mayonnaise will add a little thickness and hold to your dip.
Fresh garlic, parsley and chives are the fresh herbs you will need. Simply wash and finely chop and mix into sauce.
You will also need lemon or lime juice to provide some acidity. Dry seasonings of garlic powder, onion powder, white pepper and salt are added for extra flavour.
